Story
Su Su’s smile radiates joy as her family and our partner center’s team gather to celebrate her baby’s 100-day birthday. In that moment, the long journey of faith that brought her here feels closer than the day her suffering began.
At just eleven, Su Su left school to work in a factory, but her wages weren’t enough to support her family. When her boss promised her a better job in China, she trusted him—only to be betrayed and sold across the border as a bride. Locked in a hotel room for days, she managed to escape. Anti-trafficking officials helped her return to Myanmar, where she discovered she was pregnant and found refuge at Eden.
Remembering the night she hid under a tree to flee her husband’s family, Su Su chose once again to change her story. She embraced counseling and began making jewelry through our partner center’s program.
The Walk on Water Hoop Earrings is inspired by her courage—a reminder to step forward in faith, take action, and help rewrite the stories of trafficking survivors like Su Su by sharing their journeys and seeking justice.
