Made for Freedom's Fashion Revolution Celebration Recap

After months of planning and preparing, our Fashion Revolution Celebration at TechArtista in St. Louis happened last Tuesday. We had a great time with all who came! Thank you, St. Louisans who spent their Tuesday night with us.

We had 16 vendors selling ethically produced or environmentally friendly products like teas, baby clothes, jewelry, bags, wallets, skincare products, and of course, our Creabeli products. Jessamyn Rains and Hera Lynn provided great live music while people shopped and learned about ethical fashion.

Dawn interviewed a couple of the judges from our design competition, which we streamed on Periscope! So fun to try out the new app and get to share the evening with people who couldn't be there.

The highlight of the night was our fashion show, which ran twice during the evening. It featured ethical, bohemian chic fashion from multiple vendors present. We loved to see how our stylist, Mandy, put it all together!

Here are some of the looks from the show, looking great on the models:

Thanks to our models for doing such a great job!

Throughout the evening, we had four presentations running to share about Made for Freedom, the state of ethics in the garment industry, the winners and submissions from our design competition, and how to know if what you buy is ethically sourced. Here are links to each:

PBS Startup: Made for Freedom segment

Prezi: Ethical Shopping and Business

Youtube: The Race to the Bottom (powerful video about the need for reform in the garment industry!)

We'll have the designs available on our website soon!

What a fun, informative evening we had together. Thanks to all our vendors for coming, to our guests, to our models, and the entire Made for Freedom team (that includes you, volunteers!). We're already planning for next year!
